I’ve combined my knowledge of workplace dynamics, gained from years working in the private sector, with the short-term Psychodynamic model to create a coaching model which focuses on supporting the individual whilst they navigate the challenges of their employment. I offer clients support and growth whether they are facing setbacks at work, navigating difficult work relationships, going through a period of transition or are simply not achieving to the level they feel they should be.
Initially we will work to identify and name the problem, this will happen within the first two sessions. Once we have identified our focus then the work will stay close to the issue and all following sessions will normally remain on the problem at hand.
The model I use requires a minimum of 12 sessions to be effective, however further sessions can be arranged if we feel they would be beneficial. The structure of the 12 sessions will be generally as below:
Session 1-2: Identify the problem we will be addressing and discuss a brief history of you.
Session 3-10: Understand, within the framework of your history, the relevance of the current problem you are facing. Once we understand this we can look to see what possible solutions there are, whether they be emotional change on your part, practical change or acceptance.
Session 11-12: Consolidate the work with a clear understanding of our outcomes.
The aim of the work is to gain a better understanding of you within the frame of your workplace, understanding why you behave a certain way or why you struggle with certain tasks, with a view to challenging or changing these patterns.
I work with clients both face to face at my office in Maidstone town centre as well as online via video call, whichever best suits your life and work.
My fee is £75 per session.
Coaching differs from therapy because it remains tightly focussed on a certain part of your life and aims to be problem and solution focussed where it can be. Some clients find that this work then leads on to deeper therapeutic work and transition our work from coaching to long-term therapy.
